My state income tax check came in the mail the other day, thank god. It's not much... but fuck, 60-something bucks is better than nothing.
So... I got a call around Thursday from Game Crazy, saying that they had one of the Final Fantasy games from my wishlist. Yay! Turns out it was Chronicles, which has IV and Chrono Trigger on it (I'm still a little puzzled as to why Chrono's on there, as it's not a Final Fantasy game... yeah, Square put it out, but still). The verdict thus far? I've only played each one a little bit, but... IV is a little bit too easy so far but also strangely addictive. Battle system reminds me of the original Suikoden with the front row/back row stuff. Oh, and Edward is a FUCKTARD. I'd been told that many times but now I really believe it. If his HP gets below a certain point (which it inevitably will, because he's a fucking wimp and can't take damage worth shit), he freaking hides. HIDES! So the good part I guess is that he won't die, because he won't take any damage. However, this is completely overshadowed by the fact that you can't USE the fucker for anything. Did I mention that his attacks are weaker than all hell? He's now totally replaced Quina as my most hated FF character... at least Quina could learn some nifty Blue Magic and wasn't totally useless. I wasn't sure if I'd like Chrono Trigger and actually wasn't really planning on playing it, but Jason made me promise to try it. And I'm glad he did because that game is cooler than shit, despite the battle system being a bit wonky.
Oh, and my commentary before on Advent Children? Watching it again now that I'm not sick and drugged up may not help, as apparently I'm not the only one who felt that way about it. Nobody seems quite sure what actually HAPPENED during the movie aside from a vague "geostigma" disease and kickass graphics. Always good to know that you're not alone... however, not so good to know that you dropped $20 on a movie that you can't even describe the plot of with any real certainty.
God of War has finally been reduced in price. I saw it in a Game Crazy flyer for $20. Wheee! So yeah... guess what's coming home with me tomorrow, assuming that I cash my state check and that GC actually has it? Finally! *evil grin*
