i've heard somewhere and seen fanarts in the japanese side of the fandom that seem to support it, that izumi's face-marks were originally intended to be acne or acne scars. but from things i've found on japanese fansites it seems that was the original intention but higuchi replied to a reader question sometime and said that she things interpreting them as freckles is valid too. the way they ended up coloring them most of the time in the anime made them seem more like freckles i guess. i originally thought they were freckles as well but after discovering they were originally supposed to be acne marks i really like that so it's my headcanon for him. but yeah since the author says either way is legit ppl can go either way they want with it. (i just wish more of the english side of the fandom liked the acne version b/c it seems like everyone else prefers freckles and i wish there were more arts/fics of him with acne heh.)
yeah abe and mihashi are not so well suited for each other personality-wise, lol. their issues feed on each other and it makes them both worse much of the time.

hahaha it's ok, I THINK "THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL" all the time haha. it's extra hilarious for japanese high school baseball b/c there is SO MUCH crying in it lol.
various songs catch on in japan for use as cheer songs during koushien. some of them become particularly popular and are mainstays of the event, so you'll hear a bunch of th same songs over and over from various schools. schools also have their own preferences for songs they tend to play. i got really psyched during a few games of koushien this past summer b/c one school's band kept playing the fight song from my alma mater haha. so anyway, yeah, they just use all kinds of songs. not b/c of their association with a given country or w/e. i heard the cutey honey theme song a bunch. also AIM AND HIT is probably my favorite one haha, they play it a LOT. the original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51ix-ZidQog
i like yonaga tsubasa a lot, mihashi's VA from oofuri. he also voices nagisa in free! and komano-kun in chihayafuru. oh and i guess he's manami in yowamushi pedal haha. anyway i think he does a good job of giving all his characters v different feeling voices. like if i pay attention i can tell it is him, but the way he inflects things and his energy/emotion for each character is super different based on who he's playing and i like that.
