Suikoden II Wrap-Up~
There's probably other stuff I should be talking about (like more work dramaz), but I don't feel like it. For now? MOAR SUIKODEN! You can safely just skip this entry if you're not interested. :D
So I've finished Suikoden II. Of course, I have a zillion little notes/reactions/whatever, so bear with me. :P
-Nanami. *SOB* I HATE YOU, SUIKODEN! The worst part is that I had to watch her get shot TWICE because the fucking game froze during the battle with Gourdo. *DOUBLE SOB*
-Almost as bad as Nanami: After she dies, at HQ, you can go around and talk to people. If you talk to Shiro (the white wolf that hangs around Kinnison), he looks up at you all sad-like instead of the happy howl he usually does. ;~;
-And of course Nanami was one of the strongest characters I had, because I used her all the freaking time. GUH. >_<
-I've decided that this game just doesn't like certain unite attacks. Never had any trouble with some of them, but the Double Leader attack ALWAYS freezes, and when I went to go use the one that Riou and Jowy had, the god damn thing froze. *STABBITY*
-Why is it all my favorites are short-ranged? Viktor, Flik, Georg, Miklotov, Camus, Oulan, Wakaba, plus some other ones I'm not thinking of at the moment. Meh.
-The last scene with Jowy and Pilika- SOB!!! This is where I actually teared up. Not Nanami's death, here. I'm choosing to blame hormones. XD
-The last two battles of the game- Seed/Culgan and the Beast Rune? Not that hard. :/ I can honestly say that I only had to heal minorly a couple of times for each fight, and they both went down pretty quickly. And all of my characters were around level 60- imagine if I'd levelled up further!
-Flik yelling at Riou and dragging him off when the castle starts coming down? WIN.
I took the time to get the three endings available at this point:
-"Default Ending": Riou becomes King. Huh. Kind of like with Tir, there's just something not right about that. I kind of feel like neither of them are actually the best option for that. Neither of them wanted it. The whole army/fighting against the government was just kind of thrust on them. All either of them wants is to be normal. So I don't know, that whole thing just doesn't sit right with me. And the last picture, Jowy waiting for Riou? ;~; Totally sad to think that he'd just be left waiting there.
-"Good Ending": Is it just me, or is what Nanami pulled completely and totally cruel? She's supposed to be Riou's family- the only family he has left, as a matter of fact. Don't get me wrong, it was nice that they all got to be together in the end, but. How you could knowingly do that to your brother is really beyond me. Yes, it was hard. Did she not think it was hard for Riou too? Please. Talk about above and beyond selfish. I liked Nanami before this, but that stunt was just too much. >_<
-The other ending: You decline to lead the new country, but you take Jowy's rune, Jowy dies, you become king anyway. Jowy dying is just... not right. I always thought he was supposed to come around in the end. So kind of like the default ending (and for some of the same reasons), this ending doesn't sit well with me either. I mean, I get it, to a point. But to another point it's like, seriously, you're asking your best friend to kill you. NOT COOL.
"After the War" stuff!:
-Am I the only one confused as to why Futch is still looking for a dragon? He just got Bright. Exactly how many dragons does this kid need? O_o
-Hoi's is totally my favorite one: "Decided to retire from thievery but soon realized that was a terrible mistake." *gigglesnort*
-Viki: "Drank too much champagne and accidentally teleported herself off somewhere." Oh, Viki. Never change. <3
-Riou: "To him, the smiles of Jowy and Nanami are his greatest treasure." D'AWWWWW.
-Viktor and Flik going randomly adventuring together at the end? Oh yeah, VikFlik~ :P
I haven't decided what to do now- part of me wants to jump into Suikoden III and give that another shot, but... I kind of want a break, too. There are things to watch and fics to write! I should probably take at least a week from it and just chill, at any rate. ^_^;
