Obsessive Much?

Okay, bookstores fail at life. Stef and I went to TWO today, because there was a particular book she was looking for (we went searching for a new series we could share and get ourselves addicted to)... So I wandered over to the manga section. Yeah. Barnes and Noble had 3,5,6,7,8 of Hikaru No Go. Borders had 1. So after all that I'm still missing 2 and 4. Fucking A. Not to mention that I felt a little ridiculous buying comics. I mean, I'm 23 years old, for god sakes. It was embarrassing. But I guess the point is... I finally got Hikaru No Go manga! Wheee! *is excited* I sat and read 1 while Kelly was fooling around on the computer. Fun stuff. Kelly came out into the livingroom and looked at me like I was completely insane, because I was just sitting on the couch giggling hysterically. I'm just curious as to whether a volume can rightly count as a book for my reading list or not. Hmm. It was weird though, the book being backwards, but I adjusted to it pretty quickly considering. Very weird. Not only is the book itself backwards, but the frames are backwards as well, a la Japanese style. One thing really annoys me: Why did they change the order of the names? The damn BOOK is backwards, and yet they had to switch the names around to fit the Western style? And what is it with Hikaru calling Akira by his given name? He never does that! *alright, ending rant* I'm also a little confused about the spelling of their names. I always thought it was "Shindou" and "Touya", but this has them as "Shindo" and "Toya". Eh?

I also got a new fantasy series by Raymond E. Feist (I've read stuff by him before and LOVED it, and this seems like it's going to be good, so I'm really hoping I'm going to like these.), and I happened to see "Nothing But the Truth" by Avi and HAD to pick it up. It's totally my favorite Avi book and I remember loving it when we had to read it for school when I was a kid. So yeah. I spent a good 70-80 dollars on books today.

Volume 9 of Hikaru No Go isn't due out in English until April 3. No release date for any of the other ones yet. Meh. Why are they so SLOW with releasing these things? Geez, I'll be 50 by the time the finish the damn things, and by then I probably won't care.

I fooled around with my myspace a little bit more. Deleted a couple of things. Added the Eternal Rivals video and added an 'implied yaoi" warning ahead of time. Yeah. Not much else going on at the moment.

Can I just tell you how nice it is to have a day off? Just... much better. Although I feel on edge for some reason and I don't really know why. Maybe part of me is just waiting for a call, "Can you come in?" ....or something. But yeah, this whole "one day off in almost two weeks" thing was complete bullshit, and I'm so glad that it's over.

Ack! It's almost 6 and I haven't even watched a single episode of Hikaru No Go! Shame on me! On that note... later.
