verloren1983: (Madness)

Problem #1: I seem to have misplaced my offline journal (misplaced as in "I think I accidentally deleted it")... whoops? I don't THINK there was anything utterly essential in any of those entries... I'll probably just try to do some sort of "catch up" entry at some point- but not today.
Problem #2: I have "Like A Virgin" by Madonna stuck in my head. Believe me... that is most definitely a problem.
Problem #3: My stomach is raising perfect holy hell because I haven't eaten in about eight hours, but there's nothing in the house because I haven't gone grocery shopping in at least two weeks. Maybe three. Grrr. I'd go get food but the idea of walking to the store at four in the morning doesn't exactly thrill me. (Edit: I just found some instant mashed potatoes I can cook up in the microwave. Yayness.)
Problem #4: I need laundry, desperately, but I really, really don't feel like doing it.

Alright, enough of that. I had a bit of a surprise tonight- when I came home from work, who's sitting on the couch but Jay (the guy that was practically our brother when we were growing up and who I hardly ever see now)! Yeah. It was a bit weird at first, but Erin, Kelly, and I caught up with him a bit, talked about what everyone was up to, that sort of thing. So... he didn't leave till about midnight. Whoops. Oh, and apparently we've been invited to his son's birthday party next month, which should be interesting on a variety of levels. If we end up going. We'll see.

I totally had this memory come up rather unexpectedly... I borrowed a couple of cd's from work because there were some songs I wanted off them. One of them was a bunch of Madonna songs, including "Material Girl" which I haven't heard in I can't even tell you how long. As soon as I started listening to it, this image of Kelly came up in my head: she's little, probably about four or five, with a bright pink plastic purse hanging on her arm and matching plastic high heels on her feet. She may or may not have been wearing a large hat (My brain seems to mix up this memory with a similar picture of Erin at around two years old, and Erin had a hat. So I'm not actually sure if Kelly did or not.). And she's pretending she has a microphone in her hand and singing along to "Material Girl". It's... absolutely hysterical, and when I played the song for Kelly she promptly turned beet red as soon as she recognized the song and started saying "Oh god, oh god." Because she knew there was a specific reason I was playing it for her. He he. Have I mentioned that I'm evil? Because I am.
